Your future duties and responsibilitiesWe are seeking a seasoned Senior SDET to lead and evolve our testing strategy across complex enterprise applications. This hybrid role, based in Reston, involves overseeing the full testing lifecycle—from strategy development and test execution to defect management and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in both manual and automated testing, a strong grasp of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and a passion for driving Testing Center of Excellence (TCoE) initiatives. You will also play a key role in mentoring teams, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and occasionally training end users.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 6+ years of relevant experience
• Proven leadership in managing large-scale testing efforts across multiple projects
• Strong background in Testing Center of Excellence (TCoE) strategy and implementation
• Hands-on experience testing Web, SOA/Web Services, Data Warehouse/ETL, and Java backend systems
• Proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall development environments
• Deep understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
• Skilled in using project management and testing tools such as HP ALM, Rally, and JIRA
• Strong SQL skills, particularly with Oracle databases
• Comfortable working in both Unix and Windows environments
• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools
• Familiarity with ATDD/BDD practices and Gherkin syntax
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
• Post-graduate degree (Master’s or higher) is preferred

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $88,200.00 - $121,200.00.
